Year 2, week 28: NurserySlope

Ouch. My plan to get the client to keep quiet about the fake email I had sent until the conference failed. Today I had a brief visit from SlipperySlop’s assistant who I can only call NurserySlope. If you think Slippery himself is bad then Nursery is all of that and more. She’s basically a mini-me version of Slippery but with all the added arrogance of youth. Worse, she’s had it all given to her on a sliver platter, right down to the job, Slippery being her father and all. All of which makes her somewhat unbearable even at the best of times. Thankfully at least, she looks like (and for what it’s worth sounds like) a horse although this doesn’t seem to have undermined any of her self-confidence. To be fair, though, she’s surrounded by much of the same each weekend at her gymkhanas and ski slopes and so there would be no reason for her to have any insight on that front. Anyway, she popped into chambers this afternoon and was braying away for all to hear. “Slippery wants you to come and work on the case tomorrow in our office.”

Not sure why she had to come all the way to chambers to deliver her message but from the looks of things it might have something to do with OldSmoothie who certainly stopped her in her tracks and left her blushing after a brief conversation in the clerks room.
