Year 2, week 5: SchoolForScoundrels

Since I started writing this blog I’ve had a whole bunch of enquiries from people who have started pupillage this October asking if I will become their personal pupillage coach.  Well, everything has a price and mine is a retainer of £10,000 for the year on a no-win no-fee basis.  In other words, if that pupil doesn’t get taken on as a tenant I will refund them the whole fee.  In the past couple of months I have had fifteen pupils sign up.  Not with me personally of course but with a company I’ve set up to provide pupils with “strategic career advice”.

What they get for this £10,000 is a half an hour consultation once a week in which I provide them with strategies for improving their chances of tenancy.  Well, okay, “strategies” is a nice way of putting it.  More like sneaky tricks you can play on your fellow pupils to knock them out the game.  Seems to be going down a treat.  So much so that whilst I’m now full for this year, I’m considering training other people to act as trainers for next year so that I might be able to offer a whole team of sneaky sneaks for next October and maybe take on four or five times as many people.

After that, who knows?  Maybe I’ll expand into those doing training contracts in solicitors firms and maybe even into other jobs.  From the feedback I’ve been getting, it seems these skills could be expanded into pretty much most office environments.
