Day 202, week 42: foiled
Ha! I have to admit to taking some pleasure in hearing that UpTights and TheVamp lost today. Both of them arrived at court done up to the nines only to find that the particular judge in question stood them up by calling in sick. This meant that the case was transferred to a different judge and just to cap it, a female one at that. Well, she, like the rest of the legal community knew the stories about the lascivious nature of her fellow judge and it didnât take much of her female intuition to sniff out what was going on. In fact, going by the pungent smell of expensive perfume which stunk out the clerksâ room on their return, âsniff outâ would probably be accurate.
âHow long has your junior been instructed on this case, Ms UpTights?â
âThat is not relevant, Your Honour.â
âEven so. Humour me. How long?â
âSince yesterday morning.â
âAnd when did you find out who would be hearing this case?â
âEr. Yesterday morning.â
âAnd would there be any chance, any correlation between these two happenings?â
âYour Honour. MâLearned Friend is extremely experienced in matters such as this.â
âYes,â she took a long look at TheVamp before continuing, âIâm sure she is.â
The case was lost before it had even started and UpTights and TheVamp were left looking like two women out on the pull whoâd been turned away at the door of the only nightclub in town.
Serves them right. For once, there was some justice and the lovely middle aged lady got her cash.

Excellent!
Thanks, BabyB, for this brilliant blog! I’m hooked.
Now to work out how to get Tenancy with honour and integrity! But that’s a couple of years off yet.
